Dr. Mohan Pathirana - President /Managing Director

Old Boy of Royal College Colombo – Dr Mohan Pathirana graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (Merit) from the University of Colombo. From being an Electrical Engineer at Hayleys Engineering Ltd, Dr Pathirana gradually moved to laying the foundation of the ICBT Campus in 1999. Dr Pathirana managed ICBT as the CEO /Executive Director for 18 years before taking up the position of Chairman at Edulink International Campus where he catapulted the educational and financial status of Edulink. He formed Clamp Holdings in 2018, with the view to shpare his expertise in international higher education and cultivate the region as an education hub in Asia. He has been adorned with:

  • Hall of Fame Award in World Chancellor’s and Vice Chancellor’s Awards 2014 India
  • Innovative Leader Award at Asian Leadership Award 2013 in Dubai
  • Young Achiever Award at Asian Leadership Award 2013 in Dubai
  • Innovative Leader Award at Philip Kotler Initiative World Marketing Summit 2013
  • Academic and Educational Excellence Awards, Malaysia
  • World leader Business person. Houston. Texas-September 2014
  • Hon.Abdul Kalam Award for Educational Excellence -2019
For successfully creating a new space for the sought-after and employment-oriented private education of international standards in Sri Lanka, he was conferred with an honorary doctorate, The Doctor of the University, by Middlesex University (UK) in October 2014 and Honorary Fellow of the Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK) in November 2014. The latter is the highest recognition an Internationally recognized university has offered any individual. Dr Pathirana is the first Sri Lankan to have received this award.
