Dr. Mohan Pathirana - President /Managing Director

Old Boy of Royal College Colombo, Dr. Mohan Pathirana, graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (Merit) from the University of Colombo. Beginning his career as an Electrical Engineer at Hayleys Engineering Ltd., Dr. Pathirana gradually transitioned to laying the foundation of the ICBT Campus in 1999.

 

Dr. Pathirana managed ICBT as the CEO and Executive Director for 18 years before assuming the role of Chairman at Edulink International Campus. Under his leadership, Edulink experienced significant growth, both educationally and financially.

 

In 2018, Dr. Pathirana established Clamp Holdings with the vision of sharing his expertise in international higher education and fostering the development of the region as an education hub in Asia.

For successfully creating a new space for sought-after, employment-oriented private education of international standards in Sri Lanka, he was conferred with an honorary doctorate, Doctor of the University, by Middlesex University (UK) in October 2014, and named an Honorary Fellow of Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK) in November 2014. The latter is the highest recognition offered by this internationally recognized university. Dr. Pathirana is the first Sri Lankan to receive this honor.
